Sentences are categorized into four main types:
1. Declarative or Assertive Sentences
- These sentences make statements or assertions.
- Example: She went to school.
2. Exclamatory Sentences
- Expressing strong feelings or emotions, exclamatory sentences often end with an exclamation mark.
- Example: ‘She failed and still went to school!’
3. Interrogative Sentences
- These sentences pose questions and typically start with question words.
- Example: ‘Did she go to school?’
4. Imperative Sentences
- Imperative sentences convey commands, requests, or entreaties.
- Example: ‘Please go to school.’
