Discuss amount of information.

  1. Proper Amount of Information:
    • Too much information on a screen can be confusing because it competes for attention.
    • It makes visual searches longer and makes it harder to see a clear structure.
    • Too little information is inefficient and might burden memory if spread across multiple screens.
  2. Present All Necessary Information:
    • Ideally, provide all the needed information for an action or decision on one screen.
    • Avoid relying on memory for information spread across different screens.
  3. Screen Density:
    • Density calculates how much information is on the screen.
    • It’s linked to complexity, as both measure “how much is there.”
    • Two types of density:
      • Overall Density: Measures the percentage of the entire screen filled with data.
      • Local Density: Measures how tightly packed the screen is.
