What are the advantages and disadvantages of Biba Model ?

Advantages:

  1. Simple Implementation: Biba is easy to set up and use.
  2. Flexible Policies: It offers various policies to choose from based on specific needs.

Disadvantages:

  1. No Confidentiality Enforcement: Biba doesn’t ensure data confidentiality, meaning it doesn’t guarantee that information won’t be accessed by unauthorized parties.
  2. Limited Authorization Control: It lacks support for easily granting or revoking permissions, making it less flexible in managing access rights.
  3. Network Compatibility Issues: To use Biba, all computers in a system must support labeling of integrity for both users and data. This can be challenging in a network environment, creating problems for implementation.
